Dr. David W. Collins, C. Psych.

Dr Collins est un psychologue pédiatrique spécialisé en neuropsychologie et en psychologie de réadaptation.  Il a obtenu son doctorat en Neuropsychologie Clinique à l'université de Windsor.  Il a suivi ses études sous la direction de Byron Rourke, un expert reconnu dans le domaine de difficultés d'apprentissage.  Dr Collins a fait une formation à l’hôpital pour enfants du Michigan et a complété son programme de formation en psychologie clinique au centre hospitalier de London.  Il a travaillé dans l'unité de réadaptation au Centre hospitalier pour enfants de l'est de l'Ontario (CHEO) entre 2003 et 2009.  Dr Collins a publié des articles scientifiques dans les domaines de difficultés d'apprentissage, délais de développement, épilepsie, et traumatismes crâniens.  Il est présentement en pratique privée à Ottawa.  Dr Collins est membre de l'Ordre des psychologues de l'Ontario et de la Société canadienne de psychologie.

Training and professional experience

Dr. Collins is a registered paediatric psychologist who specialises in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology.  He obtained his PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Windsor, one of only two accredited programs in Clinical Neuropsychology in Canada.  He studied under Byron Rourke, a leading expert in the field of learning disabilities.  Dr. Collins trained at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan and completed a paediatric neuropsychology internship at the London Health Sciences Centre.  He then worked in the rehabilitation unit at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) between 2003 and 2009 .  Dr. Collins has published scholarly articles in the fields of learning disabilities, epilepsy, developmental disabilities, and paediatric brain injury.   He is now in private practice in Ottawa.  Dr. Collins is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the Canadian Psychological Association.
